Environmental Management Information Disclosure on Operating Waste-to-energy Projects

As a participant in China’s environmental protection industry for more than a decade, China Everbright International Limited (“Everbright International” or the “Group”) has been developing its environmental protection business with a strong sense of social responsibility, with the goal of helping China achieve a "Bluer Sky, Clearer Water and Greener Lands". Adhering to the principle that “An enterprise is not only a Creator of Wealth, but also the Safeguard of Environmental and Social Responsibility”, the Group builds and operates projects to the highest standards. It is the first company in China to connect with local government environmental protection departments to communicate real-time environmental data, and is the first to fully comply with the EU 2010 Standard (“DIRECTIVE 2010/75/EU”, replacing the former “DIRECTIVE 2000/76/EC” standard) for its gas emission standards.

In 2015, we made another “first”. We are the first company to take the initiative to disclose environmental management information, welcoming the supervision of the government and the general public. This kicked off our “Four Steps” plan on the disclosure of the discharge standards and environmental management information of the waste-to-energy projects in operation. We carried out the plan as scheduled and successfully achieved the goal of disclosing environmental impact assessments and publishing the average levels of our operating waste-to-energy projects’ emission standards on a monthly, daily and hourly basis in less than one and a half years. This has set an example and new benchmark for the industry in terms of information disclosure.
